Donation of EUR 30'000.00

ST. FLORIAN. This year the charity tournament, organized by Paul Fuchs, would have taken place for the eleventh time. Normally the golf club welcomed about 150 guests. The Corona pandemic put a spoke in the works. Nevertheless a large part of the sponsors have joined forces and raised a total of 30,000 euros to directly support children with cancer in Upper and Lower Austria. Lower Austria: "It is overwhelming that although the tournament did not take place, such a high sum was donated by the sponsors", says Ulla Burghard, chairwoman of the Upper Austrian child cancer support. 

730,000 euros already donated

For the sponsors it was a matter of course. "We have been a main sponsor since the beginning and it was a matter of and it was a matter of the heart for us to support the children again this year," says support this year as well," says Günter Stöger, Sales Unit Manager of SKF Steyr. This more children with cancer this year than in previous years, which makes it all the more important important that this donation came about, says organizer Paul Fuchs: "We have spoken to the sponsors and a large number of them have agreed to donate. In total, we have thus been able to hand over a donation sum of 730,000 euros over the past eleven years. 412 families have been directly supported with 676,200 euros of this amount." Next year, the twelfth "Golfing with Heart" event at the Linz St. Florian Golf Club in Tillysburg will then take place again as usual on June 19, 2021.
